Congratulations to the Mustang Baseball Team on their advancement to the District Tournament on May 23 at Quinton Street Ballpark in The Dalles.  

Game 1 - 10:00 a.m. Dufur vs. Pilot RockWinner District Champs number 1 seed to state – Loser plays game 3.  Dufur will take infield at 9:25 am, Pilot Rock will take infield at 9:40 am.

Lineups will be announced at 9:55 am.

Game 2 - Noon or 40 minutes or as agreed by participants following game 1: Heppner vs. Irrigon – Winner plays in game 3 - Loser out

Lineups will be announced five minutes prior to first pitch.

Game 3 - 2:00 pm or 30 minutes or as agreed by participants following game 2:  Loser game 1 vs. winner game 2 – Winner number 2 seed to state

Lineups will be announced five minutes prior to first pitch. League All-Stars will be announced immediately following game 3.

State Track Qualifiers

State Tennis Qualifiers

Outdoor Club Trip

The Outdoor Club will be white water rafting on May 31. Registration information is posted in the hall.

Volleyball Skills Camp – June 8

There will be a Volleyball Skills Camp, with instruction from the BMCC coach, for incoming students in 8th – 12th grades, on June 8, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the HHS Gym. Contact Mr. Waite for more information.

Oregon Boys & Girls State – June 14-20

Oregon Boys & Girls State leadership academies are outstanding youth programs allow high school juniors an opportunity to learn leadership, civic responsibility, and teamwork in a fun, interactive simulation. The leadership conferences will be held at Willamette University on June 14-20, 2015.  $50 Registration fee pays for the entire week of leadership training.  Registration deadline is June 8.  For more information see www.LeadershipOregon.org

Hunter Education Classes Offered

Driver’s Ed Offered in Hermiston

Hermiston School District is offering a spring and summer Driver’s Education Program in 2015.  The two sessions will be from March 30 – May 8 and June 8th through July 24.  Brochures are available in the holder by the office. Are you looking for a summer job that will give you the chance to give back to your community while learning new skills in the field of natural resources and building your resume? CAPECO is hiring youth ages 16-21 to staff their summer resource crew.  The crew will be working in the Umatilla National Forest, Heppner, Oregon.  Crew members will work full time Monday – Friday under the supervision of a crew leader on a variety of natural resources projects.  The pay for this position s $9.25 per hour.  Applications are available in the holder outside the office.  Applications are due by May 22.

Beat the Odds Scholarship

If you are an Oregon public high school student who has succeeded academically, despite hardships and plan to continue your education you are eligible for the Beat the Odds Scholarship.  Stand for Children will award three $10,000 scholarships to outstanding seniors in November. Congratulations to the State Track participants on a great season! Congratulations to Kelly Wilson who placed 8th in the triple jump and Skyler Palmer who placed 7th in the 800.  There will be a high school track meeting after school today.
